I’ve uploaded my program from WordCamp 2008 in San Francisco to SlideShare and showcased it below.

I talked about how important it is that we push WordPress as far as possible, even to the breaking point, to make sure it will work across all operating systems, all hosts, all browsers, all setups - in every way we can. The more we push WordPress, the more the community benefits from the fixes. Trust me, WordPress can take it, but we need to do more.

Examples covered in the presentation include:

Liz Strauss is Breaking the Web and Pushing WordPress as an example of how Liz wanted to publish 260 posts, one a minute, using the future post/timestamp feature of WordPress. Would it work?
Absolute Comments WordPress Plugin and WP Comment Remix WordPress Plugin add improved functionality for responding to comments from the Comments Panel in WordPress.
When you can’t use WordPress Plugins, like on WordPress.com blogs, creative people like Engtech of Internet Duct Tape said, “We can do more!” He created some Greasemonkey FireFox Extension scripts that improve how WordPress works for WordPress and WordPress.com blogs. WordPress Comment Ninja adds comment replies from the Comments Panel. Auntie Akismet Spam for WordPress condenses Akismet spam to two lines and combines redundant comment spam to speed up comment spam checking for false/positives by an incredible amount. Both of these save you a LOT of time.
